My strawberries
I can’t remember who it was, but someone asked me to show my process of freezing my fruit for my smoothies that I make every day. I know it would be a lot easier to just buy the fruit frozen, but this way, I get more bang for my buck and I know that they are clean! So, here goes….
First, you get your strawberries. Kroger had a pretty good sale, so I got 6 of them! ![]()

Wash them TWICE!!! One time is just not good enough for me. ![]()

This is why, after the first washing……this is what came off. ![]()

After the second washing, this is what I got. Now do you see why I said wash twice?!! ![]()

Don’t forget to recycle your containers!

Next gather everything you need. Get a clean towel, your strawberries, a scale, an empty bowl (for the scraps) and a small knife.

Cut off the tops of the strawberries and discard the leaves section. Some people leave the white part on it, but I don’t like that. I take the leaves and the white part off.

Turn the scale on. Notice that mine is on the oz. Well, I separate mine into 100 grams. I don’t know why, it’s just easier and something I’ve been doing for a long time. So, I keep doing it. ![]()

So, I set it on grams.

Then I put my ziploc snack bags on the scale.

The bag weighs 2 grams, and you know I’ve got to get all my grams in….so you know I’ve got to 0 that mug out! ![]()

Next, I fill the ziploc bag up to 100 grams exactly. If having full strawberries is over that 100 g total, I will cut one up so that it will be exactly 100 grams.

After all of that…..you have the finished product waiting to go into the freezer. Those 6 containers, yielded 20 servings….enough for 20 smoothies…..that’s almost a month of smoothies out of just 6 containers! ![]()
Then you have WONDERFUL strawberries ready to be frozen!!!!!!!! ![]()
